I called the Kitchen Aid number for parts and was able to get a free replacement. I didn't even have to pay for shipping, so why pay for these. I called a year or so ago, so no guarantee that they will still give them away for free, but it is worth a shot!

i have this screw and what can i say? it's a screw and it works. not much to say about something that can only do one thing. with a lot of use of the mixer it will work its way loose but then what do you expect? it never has fallen out or in the batter, dough, etc. just check it once in a while and tighten it up.

Last summer we planted our first ever vegetable garden. And, what do you know? Stuff actually grew! We had lots of big juicy tomatoes. My wife made sauce and I knew right then and there, we needed to be able to save our harvest. So we decided to can. In order to do that, we needed to strain our tomatoes. I had an old hand operated mill, but like I said earlier, we had lot's of maters! The fruit and veggy strainer made quick work of it. It took out the skins and seeds in no time. We even had enough to make spaghetti sauce; gave some as Christmas gifts. We were so pleased, we went to an apple orchard to get some apples and we made applesauce and apple butter. Man, there is no comparison to store bought.



This attachment makes the job lots easier. If you have a Kitchen Aid mixer to hook this bad boy to, then buy it. You won't be sorry.



I bought the tray attachment to by the way. Almost a necessity when processing more than a handful of things. My wife and I worked together on it. One would cut the apples or tomatoes into pieces and put them in the tray, the other would smoosh them into the strainer.

Have only used it for fresh tomatoes so far. I agree with other's reviews that the manufacturers directions leave a lot to be desired. Followed other reviews and intended to run them through 3 times. After twice however, we realized there was no more to be had. The only thing that bothered was the amount of pulp I found while dismantling it. Am hoping to find a better way in the future to not leave so much usable material in the sink. Will experiment with it next time before just tossing everything in the sink. Cleaning was fairly straight-forward. Stores easily in the box. Does the job I bought it for in spades.

The FVSP works well, but the only down side is that if you are doing small batches of friuts or veggies the cleanup takes a bit longer than I would like it to. If you just wanted to make a glass of juice every morning I would but a stand alone juicer. In large batches it works well and is worth it. It is a cheeper alternitive to buying a fruit press for homemade ciders and wines. By the way, water mellon juice is awesome.

I've used it for smoothies of all matters. Frozen fruit, ice, lettuce. It performed great. Possibly the best thing I like about this blender is it's really easy to clean. And it's plastic so it's lightweight and won't break or crack when you drop it.

I just received this 1 hour ago. Read the manual and tried to think of something quick to try. I made kool-aid with 1/2 the water. Put equal parts ice and kool-aid in and took out a perfect slushie. I like the ease of ceaning with using soap and water the bender cleans itself. Very pleased with this purchase. Seems very well made. Runs well and not as loud as my old...soon to be donated blender.

We almost gave this a 4-star review because of the polycarbonate jar, but it's actually very nice! The one-piece, leak-proof design makes it a breeze to clean. The ice crushing mode is superb; using an electronic "pulse" method, the ice is crushed uniformly and frothy smooth. Absolutely perfect for smoothies!
